Wow what a read! This book had it all. Realism like you wouldn't believe. If you're from Brooklyn (like I am) you can definitely relate. Que walks the fine line of growing up in a neighborhood where gangs and hard living can make or break a person. First love heartbreak. Friends to lovers journey. Grudges between friends. Jealousy. Violence. Laughter. Suspense. It has it all. Misunderstandings from the past and present that intertwine and brings it all together. Not your cookie cutter ending! Loved it! A must read!

I’m only 52 pages in and I’m HOOKED! A completely different style of writing. Having full blown conversations with the narrator! It’s insane! But insanely good. Shout out to Neal Sellers for an amazing book. The Cackling of the Crows is definitely going to be one of my top 20 faves of 2022. The face I’m making… IYKYK! Even if you only read up to page 10… you’ll have the same expression!

Excellent book! The main character, Que, has a conversation with the reader about love and life, while growing up in Brooklyn. Just when you think you've gotten Que figured out, he turns the tables. I recommend this book for any book club.

This book has attitude! I loved it. Had me talking back to the characters. Jinx, Winnie, Kiyy and K.P. were all different but I loved them all. Ladies, you need this book! And fellas you might learn something too!

"The Cackling of the Crows" is oh so Brooklyn, yet oh so relatable to anyone who's ever heard tell of the streets. For those who haven't experienced either, it's a wild ride of fantastic adventure and suspense.

This book really does "read like music". It's a conversation, a reunion, a journey back to Brooklyn in the days when hip hop was young and friendships and love and music played an integral part in lives. G Que, the main character, is very much the ladies' man, & he meets his match with Kiyy right until the very end....but keep an eye on those crows. Their appearance/re-appearance holds as much significance as the title implies.

The Cackling of the Crows is a masterpiece. The author simply dissects every detail of every moment. I’m a native Brooklynite and can testify to every aspect of this wonderful story. I look forward to more from this gifted author and hope a television or movie producer can write a script in the very near future. 3 thumbs 👍🏾 👍🏾👍🏾 up!
